Four Hundred!

I remember the Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! hour was sacred at Grandma and Grandpa's house. Every night we'd watch. I even remember being allowed to eat dinner in the living room at the coffee table so we could watch.

I watched The Price is Right religiously as a kid. OK, so I watched it until I had to get a day job of my own when my oldest was 15 months old. Then good old Bob Barker and I lost touch. I loved trying to guess the prices and seeing how close I could get. I remember thinking that if I could only get on the show, I'd be rich! And as a teenager, I'd have a new car!

When I became a stay at home mom again, poor Bob got pushed to the side for more important shows like Dora, those godawful Wiggles, and Thomas the Train (I never claimed my kid had great taste in TV). Funny thing is now with The Game Show Network, Whammy and Lingo are two of my 7yo's favorite shows. They aren't as good as I remember them being when I was a kid. They always seem to ruin the shows when they try to make them more modern. I say if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Now, if you'd like a chance for an Arm Chair Holiday Shopping Sweep, head on over to The Parent Bloggers Network and blog about your favorite game show.

Yeah, I hate it when they try and update old shows. I miss Bob! I tried to watch with Drew Carey but it just isn't the same! :(

Thanks for the comment on my blog, I'm going to see what I can do about my hellion! lol

We loved the whammys as kids. And Price is Right reminds me of being at home sick, but in a good way.

My grandparents lived and breathed WoF and Jeopardy. Every time I hear the Pennsylvania Lottery Song (darn them for changing it!!) I want just one more of those WoF/J hours at my grandparent's kitchen table.

I just teared up.

Over game shows.

At my desk.

And the maintenence men are right here working on the ceiling ducts and staring down my v-neck sweater.

Maybe they won't notice my watery eyes.

If they do I'm blaming it on the dust they're kicking up
